Engineering Week 2009

Come and join us for a series of events.  You will work in teams of two or three for a series of engineering challenges.  We will be awarding prizes for the team that wins each contest and for the overall winner!!

  • Pine Wood Derby Trials

• Monday, Feb 16, 2009 President's Day - No School

• Tuesday, Feb 17, 2009

  • Engineering Challenge #1:  A Bridge to Nowhere

  • Location:  Room 16-105

  • Time 12:00-1:00

  • Details:  Come and compete against other students.  You will be provided materials and instructions for building a simple structure. Prizes will be awarded to the winners!!

• Wednesday Feb 18, 2009

  • Engineering Challenge #2:  Row, Row Your Boat

  • Engineering Challenge #3:  Reaching for the Sky

  • Location:  Room 16-105

  • Time 1:20-3:00

  • Details:  We will run these two competitions at the same time.  Materials and instructions will be provided.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners!!

  • Engineering Challenge #4:  King Kong

  • Location:  Room 16-105

  • Time 12:00-1:00

  • Details:  Can you build a tower that will support King Kong?  Materials and instructions will be provided.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners!!  We will also provide treats!!!!!
